Minutes April 5th, 2006
The meeting was called to order by Lois Jarman at approximately 7pm.

The announcement was made that no word to date has been received from National PFLAG in terms of our
chapter status.  Lois has emailed and left voice messages at the National office.

Plans for Baltimore Pride Day were discussed.  Central MD PFLAG will join the GLBT club of FCC marching
in the parade.  The FCC group is already registered.  PFLAG will reimburse the FCC group one half of the
$35.00 registration fee.  We will meet the first Wednesday in June at the UCC at the regularly scheduled time
for a poster making session.  There will be no formal agenda for that meeting.  Bring poster making materials
and a snack to share.  Come for the fun!  The parade is set for 4pm on Saturday June 17th.

We are scheduling a book reading club.  The club will meet the third Wednesday of each month at a location to
be announced each month.  The first book club meeting will be Wednesday May 17th at 7pm at the Frederick
Coffee Company.  The book to be read will be Now That You Know.  Check the website for author information.

The FCC GLBT club is sponsoring a movie night on Thursday April 20th at 7pm.  The movie will be “Trick.”  It
will be at the theater on the FCC campus.  For more information contact GLBT@frederick.edu.

This meeting’s guest speaker was Jennifer Dixon from the Frederick County Hotline.  Jennifer spoke about the
services provided by the Hotline and the training available for volunteer listeners.  For more information,
contact the Mental Health Association at 301-663-0011.

Members of PFLAG addressed letters to Frederick County Mental Health Care Providers announcing our
meeting information.  Lois will mail the letters this week.

The next meeting will be held on Wednesday May 3 at 7pm at the Unitarian Church.  Our guest speaker at that
meeting will be Frederick City Alderman David “Kip” Koontz.

The meeting was adjourned at 8pm.  There were approximately 20 people in attendance.
