PFLAG - Central Maryland Chapter
Meetings: Central MD chapter meetings are held 7:30pm to 9:00pm on the first Wednesday each month. We currently meet at the Grace United Church of Christ, located at 25 East 2nd Street in downtown Frederick. Enter through the side door down the left side sidewalk. Once inside take an immediate right and we'll be in that big room. Everyone is welcome at our PFLAG meetings; there is absolutely no fee, registration or membership required.
Mission: Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) promotes the health and well-being of gay, lesbian bisexual and transgender persons, their families and friends through: * support, to cope with an adverse society * education, to enlighten an ill-informed public * advocacy, to end discrimination and to secure civil rights PFLAG provides an opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation, and acts to create a society that is healthy and respectful of human diversity. If you are looking for a safe place to laugh, cry, question, or celebrate; to have frank discussions with gays and lesbians and their allies; to learn more about the effects of homophobia in our society; and to advocate for a more just society, our chapter is the place for you.

Student Pride Prom a success: Frederick's 1st Student Pride Prom was a huge success. Over 50 local high school and college students attended the event on May 6th, 2011 @ FCC. Thank yous go to the FCC LIFE (Love Is For Everyone) group for hosting and decorating, high school GSAs for the cakes and promotion, the photographer for capturing the moment, the chaperons for watching, and the DJ for keeping the party moving. It was great to see the community come together to make something special. Feedback continues to be very positive so look for another Prom May 2012.
